Blog 29: Investigating y=b*x
As I was making observations in this lesson i found out different pieces of information that i was not aware of previously. I found out things such as the B-value stands for the growth factor and the x value represents the value that you multiply by to see for example how long this has been going on and the f(x) value stands for the Y value. After this investigation i still wonder about why we use these tables and how to find certain information for the equations.
Blog 30: Multiple Representations Web for Exponential Functions:
Using exponential function equations it is possible to make other connections. For example if you have the equation y=20(3)*x then it is possible to complete a table because you have the information needed to fill out the table which means you can fill out the graph and using what you know you can also create a situation. Some examples of this are…
Blog 31:Updates Web for Exponential Functions:
The connections that i used in the lesson 8.1.3 were the same as i used in blog number 30. I have already showed my understanding of using Webs in order to show that information is connected in some ways meaning that i was already able to do the same work in this case. Therefor my web will not change however i could still find connection on how to create the equation using the graph or even the situation.
Blog 32: Graph —> Equation for Exponential Functions:
In order to find information for a table you must know the equation, in order to find the equation you must have a graph and know how to take information from a graph. This means that you must be able to detect the Y value, X value and in this case the B value. The B value stands for the growth or multiplier so in order to find that you must solve for the slope. The X value is the same as any other X value and the f(x) or the Y value is also the same as any other value. Meaning that it is quite simple to solve for the exponential equations if you use your prior knowlage.
Blog 33: Important Ideas about Exponential Functions:
Exponential functions are important because they help you to use the data you have in order to create a function and solve for data in your table, graph, ect. This means that they are just like any toyer equation except they are arranged differently and only represent equations for data that is multiplied by a certain number in order to get the next. The equations are set up as “Y=b*x” or “f(x)=b*x”. The Y or f(x) value stands for the total just like in other equations, the X value stands for the multiplier just like in other equations too except is time the B value represents the growth or the number that needs to be multiplied by.
