Bullying Kids With Mental Disabilities is a No-No!

image

Hey, so last week we read a story called “Flowers for Algernon“. It’s about a man with a IQ of 68, 37 years old, and had mental disabilities. In the story, his so called “friends” invite him to a party and Charlie ended up being humiliated by everyone. It’s unfair that people with mental disabilities are often mistreated.

I think that it’s messed up to mess with people with mental disabilities.  I have a friend named Omar who has a disability but luckily, me and my friends act nice and polite to him. Sadly, not all people are given nice treatment like Omar, and that needs to change. As in the ASB, we are around them a lot and as role models, we treat them with respect as if we do to any other person. These kids are very nice once you get to know them which reminds people not to judge anyone by their cover.

I agree with you because people are being mistreated because they don’t have the abilities that others do have.
