If I were a colonist I would’ve agreed with Paine because the Great Britain didn’t treat the colonies fairly or equally. Most colonists wanted to separate from England but they didn’t had the courage to step up For themselves and Paine wrote Common Sense which spoke what people thought of England. In the passage Paine made three claims, one of the claims are “1. Monarchy is a poor form of government and they would be better off without it.” This claim is one of the main reason I agreed with Paine because monarchy is basically one person left with unlimited power and the Kings and queens treats the colonies like slaves. Another reason is because of Great Britain hurting the colonies economy with many restrictions. Great Britain also overloaded the colonies with many taxes. In conclusion if I were a colonist I wouldve agreed with Paine.
